There's a lot of things that go to make a quality double glazing product.

Sourcing the right materials (upvc profiles, components) for a start is a big one.

But when you make comparisons, most people think a window is a window and a door is a door, regardless of the company manufacturing them.

A lot of people think it's the profiles that make the difference with the double glazed windows and doors but it's not actually the different profiles - even though we use Kommerling and Spectus which are two of the very best available in the UK.

Ultimately, it's not the profile or the quality of the window and door components, it's the fabricator that counts.

It's the fabricator that decides whether he's going to put steel in it. Or whether he's going to mechanically join it.

Very few companies use the solid corner blocks, for example.

The corner blocks make a lot of difference when we're testing for Pass 24, the kitemark for enhanced security and severe weather rating for doors.

It actually stops the welds cracking when they do a hard body test on it because a fully welded corner makes the door extremely strong.
